Naxalbari, 22nd June : A devastating road accident in Bhangapool, Naxalbari, has resulted in the death of a constable and left another injured. The deceased has been identified as Constable Ranjit Barman of the Naxalbari police station.
As per reports, the incident occurred late Friday night when two constables from the Naxalbari police station were returning to Naxalbari on a motorcycle. A four-wheeler struck their bike from behind in the Bhangapool area, causing both constables to be thrown to the ground.
Local residents quickly responded, rescuing the injured and transporting them to Naxalbari Hospital. Despite receiving initial treatment, Constable Ranjit Barman succumbed to his injuries while being transferred to a private hospital in Bagdogra. The other constable remains in the ICU, undergoing treatment.
